Golf Cart

We realized how “exclusive” the area was after our first visit to the region. The benefits of privacy and security become hurdles once you realize that “everything” is just a little too far to walk, especially on vacation. To solve this problem, we invested in a 2022 six-person electric golf cart – available for an additional fee. The Golf cart will get you to Las Canas Market in roughly 12 minutes, Juanillo Beach in roughly 15 minutes, Appi Beach and Lago Azul in roughly 4 minutes and, most importantly – the amazing Marina Norte restaurants in 15 minutes (8 if you take the short cut). It will also allow you to move groceries, luggage and purchases from your car (which parks in the underground parking lot of the complex) to and from unit A23 without having to involve the concierge. Be advised, golf carts are required to stay on the travel paths located throughout Cap Cana. Also, you cannot ride outside of Cap Cana on a golf cart, and you cannot take them on the beaches.

That said, WE HIGHLY ADVISE YOU TO CONSIDER RENTING A GOLF CART FOR YOUR STAY!

E- scooter

New to the area and catching on fast is the HOPP app. Downloading the app onto your phone allows you to walk up to one of their Scooter, scan its QR code and take it for a ride. This is increasingly popular and folks can be seen zipping around on one of these units throughout the day. It’s a great way to tour the area on arrival, and get acquainted with the myriad options that Cap Cana has to offer. There are several of these scooters parked at Punta Palmera; they are very accessible.

Calling a taxi

While most would consider this the most efficient option, especially at the regulated price of $3 (all travel in Cap Cana has a taxi charge ceiling of $3), we feel that this is not the best choice. The unit is located several hundred yards from the vehicle drop off point for the complex; and this means that you will have to engage the concierge to move you from Punta Palmera’s entrance to the unit. Travel to and from the market, with tips, would cost you roughly $12.

Renting a car

This, in our opinion, is one of the best options for anyone visiting the unit for five days or more and there are myriad rental agencies located within the airport. Access to a car will not only get you to and from the market quickly, but it opens up access to all of Punta Cana Village’s restaurants and “Nacional”, the areas main supermarket – located roughly 8 minutes from the unit (by car). Also, realize that in spite of being 12 minutes away, the fees charged to and from the airport are $30 each way; renting a car automatically will save you $60.
